Agnes Ross Education Center

The Agnes Ross Education Center houses the following for the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe:  the Johnson O’Malley Program, the FSST Student Meals Program, BIA/AVT Higher Education, FSST Student Assistance Scholarship Program, the Dakota Letters Exhibit and a Computer Lab for community members.

  • Johnson O’Malley Program/638 Contract

The Johnson O’Malley Program is funded by the BIA to meet the special academic, social and cultural needs of Indian students in public, BIA and tribal schools.  These funds help provide, among other things, tutoring services and school supplies to students.

  • FSST Student Meals Program (K-12)

The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe has established a program to financially assist FSST Members with K-12 student meals.  This program is specifically geared toward FSST members that reside in Moody County and whose children attend either the Flandreau Public School or the Colman-Egan School.

  • BIA/AVT Higher Education/638 Contract

The BIA/AVT Higher Education/638 Contract funds are appropriated by Congress and are intended to aid and encourage Indian students in their pursuit of Adult Vocational Training and Higher Education opportunities.

  • Higher Education-FSST Student Assistance Scholarships

The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe encourages its membership to continue their education beyond High School.  Student Assistance Scholarships were specifically established to encourage, assist and support FSST members in their pursuit of Adult Vocational Training and Higher Education opportunities.

  • Dakota Letters Exhibit & Computer Lab

The Agnes Ross Education Center also houses the Dakota Letters Exhibit and a Computer Lab with internet access, scanning and printing capabilities.
