Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Hasvold

Born on June 10th, 1951 -

Journeyed to the Spirit World  - February 5th, 2010

Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Hasvold, 58, died Friday, February 5, 2010 at Flandreau Medical Center, Flandreau. Betty was born June 10, 1951 in Flandreau to William and Jessie (Smith) Schuyler. She attended school in Flandreau and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1970. Following graduation she attended Dakota State University. On June 21, 1971 she married Roger Hasvold at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church. Betty worked at a matron at Flandreau Indian School until 1977. From 1977 until 1984 they lived in Phoenix, AZ and she worked at the Phoenix Indian School. After returning to Flandreau, Betty worked at the Flandreau Bingo and Royal River Casino until 1996. Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren, beading, reading, sewing and Egyptian Archeology. She was a member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church. Betty touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.

Betty is survived by her husband Roger; 2 children, William Hasvold, Flandreau, Jessica (Dean) Renville, Flandreau; 3 grandchildren, Coby, Christian, Collin; 6 siblings, Judy Koob, Madison, William Schuyler, Atlanta, GA, Angela Jacobsen, Marion, Janice Bohling, Aberdeen, LuAnn Smith, Bainbridge Island, WA and Sharon Smith, Worthington, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Donald Schuyler.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Skroch Funeral Chapel with a 7:30 PM prayer service.
