The FSST Census Taskforce is taking applications and resumes for positions needed to complete the 2010 census on the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal lands and surrounding areas.

WATER QUALITY SPECIALIST

The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe is currently advertising for a full-time Water Quality Specialist.  This position encompasses outdoor activities, Laboratory, and management duties.  This position will monitor surface and ground water for biological, physical and chemical parameters to determine water quality.  This position requires a water resource education background knowledge and understanding of relative scientific fields.  Must have experience in monitoring streams,  including maintaining records of field data.  Must be able to operate, use and maintain a "certifiable"  water testing laboratory including Gas Chromatograph and other specialized laboratory and field instruments.  Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science (emphasis in Water Resources), Chemistry, or closely related area pf study.  A minimum of 3 years of specialized water lab experience.  Must have a valid driver's License and pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screen.  Tribal and/or Indian preference.  Salary DOE.

TATEWIN APARTMENT JANITOR

The Flandreau Santee SIoux Tribe is accepting applications/resume for one part-time Janitor.  This position will be responsible for coordinating activities maintaining and repairing physical structure of the building and grounds.  General cleaning, snow removal, mowing lawn, raking mopping, sweeping, washing windows and other duties as assigned.  A high School Diploma or GED, or 1-2 years experience in maintenance.  Must pass a pre-employment alcohol & drug screening, background check, and valid driver's license.

LABORERS NEEDED

The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Human Resource Director, Deb Wakeman is working with RM Rangel INC.  for the hiring for of Labors on the Elderly Housing Project.

If interested in applying for labor position, please fill out an application at the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Office with the Human Resource Department.  Applicants must have a valid driver's license and pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening.  Applicant process will begin on August 4, 2008.  Tribal Member preference, Moody County Davis Bacon wages shall prevail.
