Grace Moore Senior Citizens Picnic

The Grace Moore Senior Citizens Center’s staff and volunteers hosted the 6th Annual Summer Picnic at 5 pm , August 24th, at the Wally Koester Pavillion, Moody County 4-H Fair Grounds.  The weather was perfect for being outside, warm, not humid at all, breezy and lots of sunshine.

Sara DeClerk, Director, Sally Allen, Cook and volunteers Sharon (Lovejoy) Maras, Helena Thompson planned and prepared a great picnic meal: potato salad (homemade), baked beans, watermelon, lemonade, ice tea, ice water and a root beer floats for dessert. Victor and Richard Allen volunteered to grill the brauts, hamburgers and hot dogs for the elders.  Richard Allen took special orders for some of the elders for burnt or well done brauts.  Servers were: Sharon Maas, Sally Allen, Rose Pederson, Marsha Schlueter, Sara DeClerk.

Sara DeClerk gave the opening prayer and blessing before the meal and introduced Kelli Wollman from Madison, SD.   Ms. Wollman provided the entertainment and played the guitar and sang old classic songs and hymns. The elders enjoyed the entertainment very much.

Members of the FSST Executive Committee attending and helping serve and grill were Tribal President Tony Reider and Trustee’s Marsha Schlueter and Richard Allen.  The Tribal elders enjoyed the meal and some elders’ families and grandchildren attended and ate a meal with their grandparents, aunts, uncles and great grandparents.

Hats Off to the Grace Moore Senior Citizens Center Staff for a wonderful meal and evening outdoors!!
