The Grace Moore Senior Citizens Center was a romantic candlelit bistro on February 12th in celebration of Valentine’s Day.  Sara DeClerk, GMSCC Director, and Sharon Maras, prepared a lovely menu of sparkling wild berry punch, glazed, baked chicken breast, roasted fan-shaped potatoes, vegetable blend with swiss sauce, fruit-nut tossed salad, spiral cheese slices, and for dessert a cream puff with vanilla filling & chocolate icing.

Sally Allen, GMSCC – Cook unfortunately took ill, and couldn’t attend, but her daughter Julie Stephens volunteered to help.  Invitations were sent out requesting RSVP’s.  The staff decorated in festive Valentine’s Day colors, red and pink napkins surrounding the bright red flower center pieces that were lit with warm candlelight. The tunes of Frank Sinatra; only added to the romantic vibe while enjoying their delicious meal.

A total of fifty elders attended with their spouses or guests for a fun night out yet close to home considering the amounts of snow and bouts of cabin fever we all have had to deal with lately.

Thank you the GMSCC for providing such a fantastic feast and a pleasant evening for all those that attended.
