Jeffrey Cochran

Journeyed to the spirit world on July 17th, 2007

FLANDREAU - Our brother was Jeffrey Cochran, he like all of us, was born at the I.H.S. in Sisseton, South Dakota. Our parents were Gary & Roberta Cochran. Our family moved to Flandreau in 1973. Jeff attended school in Flandreau and at The Marty Indian School.

Our brother was a great cowboy! He loved to be outside. He never slowed down, and he could not enter a building where he wasn’t known. He was a man of many stories and adventures. Many friends to list. Everyone loved him because he loved them too. He was our protector, our back, he was always there. He will be greatly missed!

He was only 44 at the time he journeyed to the Spirit World and he is now with Dad and his son Marshall. Survived by his daughters: Jennifer Deon, Danielle Deon, Traci Cochran and Rhea Cochran; three grandchildren: Madison, Bradley and Briceson; his mother: Roberta Cochran; brothers: Gary Cochran Jr., Joseph Cochran and James Cochran; sisters: Juanita Wakeman and Roxanne Cochran; a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his father: Gary Cochran Sr., his son: Jeffrey Marshall Allen and by a niece Danielle Lee Budack.

Funeral Services for Jeffrey Cochran were held on Friday, July 20th at 2:00 P.M. at The Eastman Hall in Flandreau, South Dakota. Reverend Ronald K. McKinney officiated. Interment followed at The First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Flandreau.

An all night wake was held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, July 19th at The Eastman Hall.

Many Lightning Drum Group provided special music.

Active Pallbearers were Craig Severtson, Art Schmidt, Rick Long, Robin Redearth, Scott Anderson, Donovan White, Kevin Valnes and David Ahlers.

Honorary Men Pallbearers were: Mike Wakeman, Mike Weston, Beau Severtson, Brett Severtson, Roy Janisch, Conrad Rederth, Gary Cournoyer, Gene Taylor and Michael Allen.

Honorary Women Pallbearers were: Marcie Redday, Marcie Wakeman, Michelle Begay, Lisa Weston, Karla Bjerke, Lisa Drapeau, Jackie Bird, Lori Marks, Faith Erickson, Laureen Herrick and Phillis Bothel.
